Ms. Rosalie Ramirez has a Master’s in Counseling with a School Counseling specialization from USD and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UCSD. Currently Ms. Ramirez is a College & Career Counselor at a small rural high school in the San Gorgonio Pass area. Prior to 2021 Ms. Ramirez spent 12 years working for the County of Riverside advocating for disabled students and adults as a Social Services Worker III & Program Specialist in the policy writing unit. Since 2004 she has worked at UCSD, Community Colleges, SD County Office of Education, local government, special districts and is a trained UC admissions reader since 2014. Her background in government work brings a unique lens & savvy when helping families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). She can help guide families to untapped benefits & resources that may have been overlooked. A fervent advocate for historically underserved students she has worked and volunteered for multiple Department of Education grant funded student programs such as EAOP, TRiO, SSSP, Education Opportunity Center (EOC), Upward Bound and PUENTE programs. She is very knowledgeable about career self assessments, the dual/concurrent, middle college enrollment, articulation & new education initiatives such as CSU Guaranteed Admissions (Senate Bill 640),  California Colleges Guidance Initiative (CCGI). As a former Bill & Melinda Gates Scholar Ms. Ramirez secured $300,000 in scholarship funding to pay for her education. She has the know-how to help highlight your student’s strengths emerge in their Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), personal statements, Common App and scholarship essays to best showcase their activities & growth. A life long learner, she is currently enrolled in the Adult Learning Disabilities certificate program. In her spare time she enjoys being flown out to visit college campuses as part of the Small Town And Rural Schools (STARS) College Network, practicing martial arts, mentoring first-generation students and listening to audiobooks.
