Bio
Hello, I’m Neal Li. My hometown is Jingjiang, JiangSu, China. I have several years of experience tutoring K–12 students in math and physics, helping them raise their grades and develop lasting problem-solving skills. Fun fact about is I love the mountains more than the beach.
How would you describe your tutoring style?
I describe my tutoring style as patient and conversational — I meet students where they are and guide them through concepts using real-world examples that make abstract ideas feel approachable.
What do you enjoy most about tutoring?
I enjoy that moment when a concept finally "clicks" for a student and you can see the frustration on their face turn into excitement.
How do you help students who feel stuck or lack confidence?
I break problems into smaller, manageable steps and remind students of past challenges they've already overcome to show them that struggle is simply part of the learning process.
What is a moment or outcome with a student that made you proud?
I was incredibly proud when a student who once refused to attempt math problems on their own began voluntarily tackling challenging questions with confidence.

I love how Math Man Olmedo Tutoring Center is dedicated to building genuine confidence in students, teaching them the means to learn, not just teaching them to get the right answer.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and currently pursuing my Ph.D.
