Hello, I’m Amadi Cayetano. My hometown is Perris, CA. I have prior work experience tutoring students. Fun fact about is ithat I am a total Star Wars nerd, along with my best friend. Bio
How would you describe your tutoring style?
I would describe my tutoring style as procedure. What I mean is that I’ll go step by step in a problem to make sure the student not only understands the math but understands the process. I think where the student feels like they are getting spoken to rather than being taught is what hurts learning. I believe a great learning environment is one that feels more like an interaction, a cooperation between student and teacher rather than the teacher lecture at the student for an hour.
What do you enjoy most about tutoring?
I love the feeling of truly helping my students learn and grow. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a concept click for them and watching their confidence build as they realize what they’re capable of.
How do you help students who feel stuck or lack confidence?
When a student is feeling stuck or lacking confidence, I try to break down a problem part by part. Feeling stuck and lacking confidence happens when the student is unsure or does not know the first step to solving a problem.
What is a moment or outcome with a student that made you proud?
Recently, I worked with a student on long division, and after going through some examples together, he was able to solve problems on his own. Seeing him gain that independence and confidence was incredibly rewarding.
