Bio

How would you describe your tutoring style?

I am very patient with my students, and I like to have them start the problems and I will help them if they need it. Being able to think through problems by themselves first will help students gain confidence. I believe that a great tutor needs to be patient and empathetic to the struggles of their students, and the combination of these two things fosters a great learning environment for everyone.

What do you enjoy most about tutoring?

I love seeing my students progress and become more confident in their ability to succeed.

How do you help students who feel stuck or lack confidence?

If a student feels stuck or lacks confidence, offering encouragement to the student is a great way to keep them trying. If they're still struggling, then it can be helpful to try a slightly easier problem and come back to the difficult one, or offer a guided example.

What is a moment or outcome with a student that made you proud?

I feel especially proud when I see my students go from sparsely showing up to tutoring to consistently showing up to tutoring is something that made me extremely proud. It shows a commitment to their studies and a drive to improve their understanding.

What do you love about Math Man Olmedo Tutoring Center?

I love the environment of Math Man Olmedo Tutoring Center, everyone is very welcoming.
