I have been tutoring students for under one years. I describe my tutoring style as energetic and supportive. I give my students the time they need to process information and make it clear that it’s okay to answer something incorrectly — the most important part is learning from mistakes. I enjoy coming up with fun and unique ways to help students understand concepts where they may be struggling, and I feel proud when they make progress, like when a student was able to read quickly through words on flash cards. I love working at Math Man Olmedo Tutoring Center because it’s such a positive atmosphere full of kind people. I believe a great learning environment is one with no distractions and surrounded by people who are willing to help. When students feel stuck or lack confidence, I encourage them to try or move on to something more comfortable while praising their strengths, helping them build both skills and confidence.
